We use all 4 of the puppy foods in our kennel that are shown below at the bottom of this page.  Click on the links below to read about each on of the foods we use.

I love the new High Prairie Canine Formula with Roasted Bison & Rosted Venison.  It contain so much natural ingreadients and omega 3 from the samon and wow does it put nice coats and shine on our puppies and dogs.

Diamond all nautral puppy food is available at many feed stores, farm stores and your better pet stores. Tiny teeth deserve tiny bites packed with nutritious ingredients for optimal growth and development. Contains DHA for optimal development of your puppy's brain and eyes and Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids to keep the skin and coat healthy and shiny.

Eagle Pack Puppy Food High quality meat meal protein from meat, builds muscle, tissue, antibodies and elements of the blood.  We use the 3 most digestible meals, (further enhanced with digestive enzymes), with high taurine levels, to build healthy eyes and heart.

Diamond Puppy Formula The correct balance of fat, protein, and other essential nutrients ensures your puppy receives the proper nutrients to grow strong and healthy. And, this formula meets the increased nutritional demands of pregnant or nursing adult dogs, too.  For the Special Needs of Puppies and Gestating/Lactating Adult Dog.  Omega Fatty Acid Balanced for Beautiful Coat and Optimum Health.  Naturally Preserved, Chelated Minerals and Complete and Balanced Nutrition.

When you shop for puppy food we recommend one of the brands shown here on our web site. They both all great well rounded nutritional diets as well as having tiny bites easy for puppies of all sizes to chew. If you do not want to use one of those that is just fine but we do highly suggest you purchase a meat base puppy food (make sure the first ingredient is meat of some kind NOT CORN )!!! The best off for your dog is one with little or NO corn, rice or soy at all.

When you puppy arrives at your home he will NOT know what a feeding schedual is. We feed all our dogs and puppies on a free choice schedual. That basicly means they have food in front of them 24 - 7 we do not limit the amount of food they eat. When fed this way they only eat when hungry and they never over eat or get fat.

The only problem with this method is that for you the new pet owner it makes it harder to house break your puppy. We suggest that when you get your puppy home you do NOT chance this schedual for about 10 to 14 days. Give the puppy a chance to settle in as it has so many changes in it's life from leaving our home and his or her siblings to mabye a air plane ride etc. (you get the idea lots of changes in a short amount of time). So give the puppy and break and wait to change the feeding schedual at least a few days.

OK now it is time to start the puppy on a schedual! Offer the puppy dry puppy food (STAY AWAY FROM CANNED FOOD AND WE DO NOT WET THE FOOD WITH ANYTHING) in the morning at what ever time you want to make his or her normal feeding. Limit the time to what ever the puppy will eat in a 15 minute time period, then after the 15 minutes take the food away. Later in the day like 4 to 6 pm (or what ever fits your schedual) offer the bowl of food to the puppy again, also for 15 minutes only. DO NOT BE SURPRISED if the puppy does not really eat very much as it has no idea why that food is being put down and taken away in 15 minutes, so it may take a couple of days for the puppy to realize that it needs to eat when they food is put down for it to eat. Don't worry or give a lot of snacks in between the meals until the puppy has learned that when the food if put down it should eat. Whe you get your puppy house broke and OK you may think the puppy is broke in 4 weeks( but for those that have raised a house pet before we know that you are the one that is house broke not the puppy ha) from when you get it but until it is 6 to 8 months old you really can not trust the puppy to be house broke. Once it is house broke if you would like to go back to feeding free choice you can. It is only inportant to limit the times each day that the puppy eats while it is young so you can regulate when it goes to the bathroom, and by feeding on a schedual the puppy will have a bowel movement usually 5 to 15 minutes after eating a meal. I hope this helps if you have any questions please feel free to contact us with any feeding questons you may have.

The above is how we feed our dogs and how we feed when house breaking. This is only a suggestion you can talk to your vet and get some other ideas and then deceide what is best for your family and pet.
